Rainy / Windy Day Policy

If it is raining heavily or VERY windy just prior to start of class we likely won’t be playing volleyball . If the weather is "iffy" or it is raining lightly or moderately, the instructors will be at the beach where a decision to play or talk volleyball will be made. Please note, if you’re a bit late to a Wednesday night class and you don’t see anyone on the courts, more than likely, we will be at Sangria or Watermans "talking volleyball strategy" over a couple of bevies and hoping the bad weather passes.

As you’re aware, the weather can change rapidly (sometimes within 15 minutes or less) and it can turn out to be a beautiful day/evening. On these occasions the type of students we draw typically want to resume class, so that’s what we do!

Many of our students form strong friendships and participate in social and competitive beach volleyball tournaments.

Here's a Great Picture from the 2007 Manhattan Beach Six Man Tournament.

Most of the "Pirate" team members (both the men and the women) are past or current students.

That's "Captain" Dennis in the black hat!
